Questions.

Is Dkompos free?

Yes. Dkompos is a free macOS download. There is no account and no paid tier.

Which Macs does it run on?

Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 14 or newer. The current public build is arm64.

Does it upload my library?

No. Your library and its analysis stay on your Mac, and Dkompos does not require an account.

How does Dkompos handle audio quality?

Dkompos shows Bit-Perfect only for a qualifying stereo 16-bit or 24-bit PCM source at its native rate, through a verified direct CoreAudio route, with DSP bypassed and software gain at unity. MP3 may use Direct Decode but is never called bit-perfect. Processed, resampled, DSD-converted, DJ, and audiobook paths are labelled separately.

Can I use an external DAC?

Yes. Dkompos shows the active output device, stream format, and route evidence. The Bit-Perfect state appears only when the source and full CoreAudio route to the device satisfy the verified playback contract.

Is the download signed and notarised?

Yes. Public builds are signed with an Apple Developer ID, notarised by Apple, and stapled. Checksums are published on the Releases page.
