What stays on your Mac, and what doesn't
Dkompos keeps your music, library, analysis, listening history, crates and sets on your Mac. There's no account and your library is never uploaded. Two features look things up online: one is on by default and one is off, and both are explained below.
Nothing to sign up for or sign in to.
Your files, library and analysis are stored only on your Mac.
No cookies, and no analytics or tracking scripts.
Your library
Dkompos scans the folders you choose and keeps the library on your Mac. Moving or exporting anything is up to you.
Analysis
BPM, key, mood, loudness, audio quality and recommendations are worked out on your Mac. No audio is sent anywhere to do it.
Artist photos and information
On by default. Dkompos sends musician and band names to Deezer to fetch artist photos and information. It doesn't send cookies or account details, but Deezer and its image host will see your IP address. You can turn this off in Settings.
Online lyrics
Off by default. When a track has no lyrics in its tags or next to the file, Dkompos can look them up on LRCLIB. If you turn this on, it sends the track's title, artist, album and length, and LRCLIB will see your IP address. Nothing is sent while it's off.
This website
The site sets no cookies and loads no analytics. Fonts come from Bunny Fonts, which says it doesn't log requests or set cookies.
Feedback
Notes sent through the feedback form go to the Dkompos inbox. If you add your email, it's only used to reply to you. You can also write to hello@dkompos.com.
